About

Ally is a recent graduate from Butler University, with degrees in music performance and French. She loves to make music and teach students around the Greater Indianapolis area. Her playing has been awarded multiple honors, including scholarships and festival recognitions. Her teachers include Karen Moratz, flute, and Becky Arrensen, piccolo. She has played flute and piccolo with the Butler University Wind Ensemble and the Butler Symphony Orchestra. Ally has performed in the orchestra with productions of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Oklahoma!, Alan Menken's The Little Mermaid, Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, and Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker and Swan Lake in collaboration with Butler University Ballet. She is a collegiate officer for the Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity and has recently earned the Global Seal of Biliteracy Functional Fluency Award in the French language.

Ally has a passion for mixed ensemble chamber music, new music, and pit orchestra playing. She has been involved in multiple premieres, including works for wind ensemble, flute choir, piccolo trio, opera, and commissioned solo pieces. When she is not performing, she loves to read fantasy novels, play board games with her friends, and play with her dog, Daisy. She can also be found working as a stagehand with the Butler Arts & Events Center and the IATSE Local 30.
